Saturday October 25th – OAPCE Regional Forum – “Journey to the 70th” – Kingston
At the First Regional Forum the OAPCE Anniversary Song was released. The song entitled “One Family” truly captures the work of the OAPCE and its mission statement for the past 70 years. I am very appreciative of the work that Michelle Griepsma accomplished on this project.
The song is written by Anthony Bastianon and sung by his wife Denise.

I can honestly say that there were very few dry eyes in the house on Saturday when the song was played for the first time. Sister Clare was visibly moved by the words and congratulated the Association on the work they do. It is so impressive that volunteers can accomplish so much. She emphasized the theme and how she felt it needs to be put across to parents, “United in Faith ..we are stronger.”
It is our hope that both Anthony and Denise can attend the 70th Annual Dinner in May 2009 where the song will be sung live by Denise.
The song is not a “for profit” adventure but is now owned by the Association and Anthony Bastianon as the creator.
I hope that Regional councils, etc will play the song at your events. Perhaps over the coming months one of the Board Committees or a Director will want to develop a powerpoint presentation to accompany the words and music.
